About Orford Cottages - Why Us
Quality:
All our cottages are independently assessed and star rated every year by VisitBritain, the national tourism authority. Apart from checking that cottages are clean, well maintained and properly equipped, all electrical and gas appliances must be certified annually and all owners must have adequate liability insurance.
VisitBritain star ratings mean potential guests can be sure of the quality of the accommodation and can compare with similarly rated properties across the country.
Many other companies “invent” their own star rating system or have no system at all; how can you be sure that everything will be as good as you expect when you arrive?
We supervise and check the cleaning and preparation of every cottage at every changeover.
Local Knowledge:
We do not operate an anonymous online booking service; we want to speak to you when you make an enquiry or booking. We know everything about our cottages and quite a lot about the local area too.
We can discuss your choice of cottage to make sure it’s the right one for you, and if you have any special needs or requirements please let us know so we can advise accordingly.
Meet and Greet:
We endeavour to meet all our guests no matter how late you arrive.
This means you do not have to hunt for keys, possibly in the dark, nor worry about how the heating or other appliances work. We explain about all these things when we meet you. We can also tell you about the best places locally to eat, drink and visit.
We will also see you when you depart just to make sure you had a perfect stay and hopefully persuade you to return again soon!
Just in case things go wrong:
Should something go wrong or if you are not happy about any aspect of the accommodation, we live locally and are available all day and in the evenings seven days a week.
The mobile phone is always switched on and out of hours we regularly check the office voicemail for messages.
Someone will call in within the hour and hopefully solve the problem then and there. If it’s more serious then we will do our very best to get an engineer or tradesman to visit as soon as possible. We will of course meet them at the property so you don’t have to worry about having “strangers” in the cottage.
